Post-18 Pathways

Choosing the best post-18 pathway can feel difficult. It is a good idea to research all the routes available:

• University – ideal for careers requiring degrees and for academic study.
• Higher or Degree Apprenticeships – earn while you learn and gain work experience.
• Employment – start building experience immediately.
• Further Training or College Courses – develop specific vocational skills.
• Gap Year – gain life experience, travel, volunteer, or work before committing.

If you are certain that you would like to study at university, always check the entry requirements prior to enrolling on your college course. Certain courses (e.g. medicine) require certain A Levels.
