We are very proud of our retreat program and offer all our pupils an opportunity to take part in a different retreat each year at key stage 3.
The retreats are an opportunity to give pupils a time out of everyday life. They offer a time of reflection, meditation, and to continue their journey with God outside of school life. The spiritual experience allows pupils to learn more about themselves, others, and build on key moral and social characteristics for the wider world.
In Year 7 each pupil is offered the opportunity to participate in a day retreat to Lowe House, St. Helens. This is run by animate Youth Ministries on behalf of the Liverpool Archdiocese. Pupils are able to develop friendships through teamwork and games while reflecting on their spirituality.
The website www.animateyouth.org offers more details.
Castlerigg Manor is set in the beautiful surroundings and district of Keswick in the Lake District. Pupils partake in spiritual activities in and around the Castlerigg Manor. Pupils are able to build new connections and friendships with others in their year group as well as build on their ongoing faith and grow spirituality.
The website www.castleriggmanor.com offers more details.
Savio House offers a chance for our Year 9 pupils to spend a few days away from their normal surroundings and give pupils a chance to reflect on their lives and experiences. The activities led and planned by the Youth Retreat Leaders allow pupils to learn more about their gifts and talents and give pupils a chance to discover God in their daily lives, accepting His love and forgiveness.

Holy Cross advertises retreat opportunities for pupils in Years 10 and 11. By putting their faith in action pupils fundraise to partake in the HCPT pilgrimage to Lourdes or can further their spirituality by attending a young adults retreat at Castlerigg and Savio House.
