Pilgrim Mass for the Year of Jubilee - Order of ServiceDuring Lent pupils are given the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in school. All pupils in Year 8 and above, who were baptised in a Catholic church, are invited to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We follow the Archdiocesan programme of preparation, which begins with the teaching of the theology of the Sacraments in Year 7. In Year 8, pupils register online and then continue their preparation with priests and catechists in the parishes, ensuring that they feel welcomed and that they understand the important role they have to play in their church community.
Confirmation Masses usually take place in June, with families of parishes coming together. In 2025 91 young people from 11 parishes were Confirmed at St Mary’s, St Gregory’s and St Joseph’s, by Archbishop John Sherrington.
