Pupils are not allowed to wear any jewellery other than a watch. Such items will be confiscated. Should you wish to allow your child to have their ears pierced then please ensure this takes place at the beginning of the summer holiday so that they can safely remove earrings for school in September.
Earrings, other piercings, chains, necklaces and rings can all be a safety hazard in school. They can also be lost or mislaid which results in teaching time being wasted whilst the problem is dealt with. Distress to pupils is also a potential consequence. Legal advice recommends the no jewellery policy on grounds of safety.
We expect pupils to maintain sensible hairstyles. Any styles deemed to be extreme in the judgement of the school are not acceptable. Hair is to be of one natural colour and should be no shorter than a “number 3” cut. Tramlines or other such styling are not acceptable. Please ensure you check with your child’s Head of Year before allowing him/her to adopt an unusual hairstyle.
