School Meals

Current Provision

We are providing a limited menu for school lunches.  Breakfast and morning break service has been temporarily suspended.

Each Wednesday pupils wishing to have a school lunch will be asked to complete an order form for the following week, Week A and Week B menus are attached as a guide to the selections on offer.  Colour coded copies of the menus will be provided to them in tutor time and so there is no need for the menus below to be printed and completed at home.  However, parents and guardians may wish to discuss meal choices with their children prior to their selections being made in form time.

Parents must ensure that sufficient funds are on pupils’ accounts.  This can be done by either ParentPay or requesting a PayPoint letter.

If you have misplaced your individual ParentPay letter giving your user name and password, copies are available on request admin@holycross.lancs.sch.uk

The daily allowance for free school meals is £2.30.  If FSM pupils exceed this daily limit additional funds must be loaded onto their accounts using ParentPay or PayPoint.

Menus current as of September 2021.

Cashless Catering

Holy Cross operates Cashless Catering in school. There is further information available in the Parent Pack concerning the Biometric thumb scanner technology.

Our in house catering service is supplied by Mellors Catering. To find out more about them, we invite you to visit their website.

Holy Cross is a healthy eating school.

The School Cafeteria offers a wide selection of items including soup, main dishes, snacks, salads, fruit, cheese and hot and cold drinks.  Items are individually priced and pupils may choose from the daily menus.

The cafeteria opens before school at 8.30 am for Breakfast Club to encourage a good start to the day.

The cafeteria is also open at morning break to provide snacks and hot and cold drinks for pupils.  Pupils are able to pre-order a lunch “grab bag” containing sandwiches, fruit and a drink. This reduces the need to queue at lunch time and is especially useful for those pupils involved in lunch time activities.

Pupils may bring healthy packed lunches, providing that they are eaten in the dining room or the outdoor picnic area.   We do not allow pupils to go home for lunch without the written permission of their parents.  Pupils are not allowed to have lunch at any nearby shops, nor at the homes of their friends.
