Senior Leadership

Headteacher: Mr Gaughan

Mr Gaughan joined Holy Cross School as Headteacher at Easter 2014.  He has a wealth of experience in Catholic education having been a classroom teacher, Head of Department, Head of Year and Deputy Headteacher.  For the academic year 2019-20 Mr Gaughan was also Executive Headteacher of another school in the Archdiocese.  Mr Gaughan is a Music specialist.


Deputy Headteacher: Mr Lindley

As Deputy Headteacher, Mr Lindley has responsibility for the day to day operations of the school.  His specific responsibilities includes organisation of whole school events, Curriculum Development, Timetable, Staff Appointments and Interviews, OFSTED preparation, Leadership of Exams and overall responsibility for the School SEF.  Mr Lindley is a Science specialist.


Assistant Headteacher: Mr Morris

Mr Morris is in his 9th year at Holy Cross. He is responsible for the pastoral care and guidance of pupils within school. This role includes the school behaviour and rewards systems and liaising with external agencies who support pupils and the school. Mr Morris is the Designated Senior Leader (DSL) for Safeguarding and is a PE specialist.


Assistant Headteacher: Mrs Huddy

Mrs Huddy joined Holy Cross in 2010.  She has responsibility for Quality of Education and Leadership of Data.  Specific responsibilities include Quality Assurance, Development of Lead Teachers, Curriculum Implementation, Target Setting, Reporting and Setting in Year 7 – 11.  Mrs Huddy oversees the KS2/3 transition programme, and she is the Educational Visits Co-ordinator.  She is a Modern Foreign Languages specialist.


Assistant Headteacher: Mrs Hardman

Mrs Hardman has been at Holy Cross for 7 years. She has overall responsibility for pupil outcomes for specific cohorts of pupils. She oversees the Learning Support Department and is a qualified SENDCo and Deputy Designated Senior Leader (DSL) for safeguarding. Mrs Hardman is also responsible for attendance and punctuality, alternative curriculum, appraisal, pupil guidance and support, staff wellbeing and staff induction . She is a Modern Foreign Languages specialist.


Assistant Headteacher: Mrs Henderson

Mrs Henderson joined Holy Cross in January 2017.  Mrs Henderson has overall responsibility for Teaching and Learning: this includes the implementation of the curriculum; literacy and numeracy across the curriculum; assessment; homework and supporting staff in delivering high quality teaching and learning for our pupils.  Mrs Henderson also leads continuing professional development for all staff.  Mrs Henderson is an English specialist.


Assistant Headteacher: Mrs Hitchen

Mrs Hitchen joined in September 2013. Mrs Hitchen has overall responsibility for all aspects of our pupils’ personal development and extended curriculum opportunities. Mrs Hitchen is a History specialist.

 


Business Manager: Mrs Cooper

Mrs Cooper has overall responsibility for financial matters in school, personnel, management of non-teaching staff and catering services. Mrs Cooper also has overall responsibility for the care and management of the school buildings and grounds, the sports facility, health & safety matters and the organisation of school transport. Mrs Cooper has been at Holy Cross since 2002.
