Jesus’s life was marked by acts of service, like healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and caring for the poor. At Holy Cross, our pupils live out their Faith through their daily actions.
Each year, parishioners attended our afternoon tea party organised and hosted by our Leadership Academy. They enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, bingo, raffle, musical entertainment as well as the opportunity to socialise with staff and pupils.
Our school choir performs each year at local care homes in Chorley, and our reading intervention pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 take their favourite books to read to the residents at Astley View Care Home. Such simple acts of kindness bring so much joy to the residents. Our pupils’ pride and sense of service towards our community have never been so strong.
During the season of advent, the church encourages us to prepare for the birth of Jesus through charitable giving.
In the summer the whole school community takes part in a race through the grounds of the school to raise vital funds for cancer research while promoting awareness and fostering a sense of community among those affected by the disease.
