How to apply to Holy Cross
In September each year, all Year 6 parents receive an admissions information pack and admissions application form issued by the Local Authority via the primary schools.
- For children attending a primary school in Lancashire, the pack will contain information about the admissions criteria for all high schools in the Lancashire area.
- For children attending a primary school outside of Lancashire, the pack will contain information about the admissions criteria for all high schools in the area covered by the issuing Local Authority.
Any parents who are interested in applying to Holy Cross and who do not automatically receive information about the school, may obtain a copy of the Admissions Policy and Arrangements from school or by downloading the following file.

.Applications for places at the school will be accepted from pupils who live inside and outside Lancashire boundaries. All applications will be placed in order using the criteria contained in our admissions policy. The school then liaises with the Local Authority, who offer places to the number of pupils as shown in the Admissions policy. Appeals forms for unsuccessful applicants may be obtained for the Local Authority or school.
Applications for a place at the school must be made on the Holy Cross Admissions form. Forms must be completed and returned to the school no later than Friday 17th October 2008. This form must be completed in addition to the Local Authority Form contained within the information pack received from primary schools. Holy Cross Admission Forms may be obtained from school or downloaded below.
New Supplementary Form 2010
Most high schools have open days/evenings which give both pupils and their parents the opportunity to come and see the school, meet the teachers & discuss any issues/concerns that they may have regarding the transition from primary school to high school.
